Why is “I CAN DO IT BUT IT”S STILL HARD” an important resource for Young people?

  • The loss and grief associated with change, life transitions and death, can be confusing and isolating.
  • Age appropriate and practical – Contains information about current websites and Apps. that are free and accessible. 
  • Young people contributed to the booklet – Focus groups of young people were interviewed about their thoughts, feelings and experiences.
  • Normalises some of the confusing feelings around loss and reduces the sense that “I’m the only one this has happened to”.
  • Provides tips and strategies that build on each young person’s strengths and resources.
  • Assists in building resilience for when the hard stuff in life happens.
  • Promotes self-awareness, self-compassion and empathy for others.
